ISCOP - INSTITUTE OF CONTEMPORARY HISTORY OF THE PROVINCE OF PESARO AND URBINO

ISCOP was born as an Institute of Pesaro for the history of the Liberation movement; it was founded in 1976 and joined the National Institute in 1984. It is a non profit-making association and it intends to promote the study of contemporary history in an historical point of view. The Institute is also a revisional agency for contemporary history.
It contributes actively to the direction of the Library “V. Bobbato” helping it to develop its activities in fulfilling the potential of its preserved material and in increasing its public image and availability; since 1996 it has its scientific direction.
In October 2001 the Institute found a new seat in the wide premises of the Galleria dei Fonditori together with the Library “V. Bobbato” and in 2002 it obtained its present title: The Institute of Contemporary History of the province of Pesaro and Urbino (ISCOP).
